Customer Reviews of No-Notation Basic Vinyl Chess Board - 20"

Gary from Fairborn No-Notation Basic Vinyl Chess Board - 20" ReviewExcellent product and the price was certainly right. Please keep these boards in your inventory because they are hard to find and consider adding one with two-inch (2") squares for checkers players. Two-inch squares in green/white are the American Checker Federation (ACF) standards and checkers does not use algebraic notation.

Michael from Los Angeles No-Notation Basic Vinyl Chess Board - 20" ReviewVinyl perfection

Bill from Chapel Hill No-Notation Basic Vinyl Chess Board - 20" ReviewI got te no notation board because I don't like the algebriac notation being opposite to the color while I'm playing -- which means which means with the baords with the squares on them you gotta swap back and forth -- which is especially annoying if you are doing five and ten monute. wholesale chess is one of the few places that stocks this product -- and on top of that they do it at the right price..

Brian from Pomona No-Notation Basic Vinyl Chess Board - 20" ReviewWhen I ordered these I thought they would look cheap, which I was ok with because of the cheap price. However they look amazing. I was very impressed with how good they look AND the cheap price

Joshua from Minneapolis No-Notation Basic Vinyl Chess Board - 20" ReviewGreat! It's hard to find no notation boards. These are great for coffee house blitz where the notation ends up on the wrong side and just ends up being distracting. When you've played a lot you know what the coordinates are anyway, ditto if you're a descriptive notation die-hard.

Josh from Lancaster No-Notation Basic Vinyl Chess Board - 20" ReviewI love the boards, nice & clean with no numbers!

Paul from Chillicothe No-Notation Basic Vinyl Chess Board - 20" ReviewI like y no-notation chess boards. As someone who learned 'without' the distracting notation, now I feel a more at ease. I have 2 boards, a black one and a green one. I was glad to see them offered. I actually have a brown one and a green one with no notation because I cut them notation off.

Franco from El Paso, TX No-Notation Basic Vinyl Chess Board - 20" ReviewIt is rare to find a vinyl board without coordinates. This is done in China. I wish that would make them a little thicker and in brown / white and gray / white. I have a gray / white, but has coordinates. Letters and numbers on the edges interferes with my concentration, because the mind, driven by the view, tends to deviate from its focus. Algebraic notation is not a problem, it is easier than most might think; just try to verify this, perhaps your level of play improves.

Rob from Minneapolis No-Notation Basic Vinyl Chess Board - 20" ReviewI had to search far and wide to find these boards. A board without numbers and letters is an absolute must if you want to teach someone notation the RIGHT WAY. Where they actually have to LEARN AND MEMORIZE THE GRID. People often will say that this is too hard for kids, but the truth is that any five year old child can learn notation without the letters and numbers in 15-30 minutes tops and they will be much much better chess players for it.
