We did have one small issue with a student who discovered that the bishop can poke neat holes in the "felt" bottom covers. Other than that, they seem sturdy enough.

I buy lots of them to give out in my community to promote the game. I gave a full spread to a fellow that teaches kids and they love them. The colors are bright. The pieces are not weighted though but that does not matter. The Silver and Gold are nifty but a bit dull in sheen. The blue is extremely dark almost black. As I write this I see that they have added a new shade of green and Orange also. These plastic pieces are a great value and very low price. You can get 6 or 7 full sets for the price of one weighted set. A fantastic deal. Follow my example and use these to promote the game and give out a few as gifts. People everywhere love chess !

The colors are so bright anf pretty especially the purple which is my favorate. Me and my cousin just played I was putple and she was pink and we kept saying what a pretty chess game this was! My aunt commented on how cool it was to see a chess game in such pretty colors. I did not expect these pieces to be that great quality because they were only $2.99 but they are very good quality. I love the weight of them they are hevier then I thought too. They are just amaxing I would definately recommend them!!! For chess players of ALL ages!!!!

I bought ten colors, and I'm satisfied with all ten and thrilled with eight of them. The blue is very dark, hard to distinguish from black, and the silver is weirdly marbled. Would buy the other colors again without hesitation, and might buy blue and silver again with some slight hesitation.

I had no problem with their weight, which seems adequate and I like it that I could put together my own complete set and pick my own colors. The pieces are very nicely colored though differ slightly from the picture for the green and blue and yellow. If you've never seen a set like this you'll be surprised how large it is in person! If you're wondering what colors match best, they all seem to match any way you combine them with perhaps the exception of pink and red.My advice: get your kids a set. Let them pick the colors. Teach them to play and play with them. If they're on video game, ween them off. If they come to really love chess then they'll always thank you.My advice: Buy your kids a set (let them pick the colors), teach them and slowly wean them off video games (if they're on them to begin with.)
