Description of Alexander Series Wood Chess Pieces 4 1/4" King - Bud Rosewood
This set of Alexander Series Wood Chess Pieces has one of the most unusual knights we have ever seen. He is represented with the full body of a horse raring up to defend his king in battle. He stands on a carved base and is 3 1/4" tall with a 1 1/2" base.
The King stand a proudly at 4 1/4 inches and his base is a robust 1 3/4 inches. He is obviously a strong leader. And why not! After all, this set bears the name of Alexander the Great, one of the greatest generals in world history. It is appropriate that this king has a well-founded reputation to conquer his enemies as well.
The set comes Bud-Rosewood but is also available in Ebony as item #SR926. Due to the size of this set, you will want to choose a board with a square of 2.125 - 2.5".
