Customer Reviews of Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop
Ron from Bossier City, Louisiana Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewThese bags are nice. The only problem I noticed is that the 20" Soft Mousepad Rollup Board wont fit into the sleeve at the bottom no matter how hard you try to make it fit. I have a couple of vinyl boards coming and that should solve that problem. This product is a good basic way to protect your set and move it about. Good quality material. Just know that the sleeve at the bottom will not accommodate the softmousepad rollup boards .... thin vinyl ones or similar only. I like the look of the bag but actually prefer the Red Drawstring Cloth Bag for its visual appeal.
Lee L from DFW TX Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewThis is a good bag to hold pieces (analysis or basic club sets for us) and roll up board. It does take a bit of practice to get the rolled board tight enough to fit easily in the sleeve and over the little fabric lip at the other end.
Daniel from Plano, IL Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewGreat organizational tool for a my chess club. I also use these inexpensive sets in various sudy hall settings. The vinyl board mus be rolled tight in order to get it to fit.
Joe from Geneva Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewI expected the holding compartment to be larger despite reading the description. Also I wish the board holder had just a little more room, so I wouldn't have to roll the vinyl board so tight. But all in all, not a bad bag for beginners.
Randy from Wichita Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewThe bag seems to be well-constructed,with a sturdy zipper. The bag needs to be bigger; it's hard to get a set of large pieces to fit. The loop for the board needs to be bigger, too. I had to re-roll the board several times to get it to fit. It would be a good idea to include a how-to guide on playing chess, for beginners or people who haven't played in a while.
Keith from Calhoun Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewThere's only thing I would recommend to make this a 5-star bag: The loop is big enough for one non-mouse-pad board. What's really causing a problem is that the hems sewn into the ends of the loop are folded to the inside which "looks" cleaner, but it catches on the leading edge of the rolled-up board as you try to push it through the loop. If those hems were instead folded to the OUTSIDE it would be MUCH easier to insert the board. It might not look as clean, but form should follow function and the manufacturing change is simple. If the loop were slightly larger, it would also make it easier to insert either two boards (the bag is big enough to hold two sets) or a board with a "buddy board". It can be done with the current loop but it's tougher than it should be.
Ahmed from San Jose Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewSturdy and spacious.
Austin from Shippensburg Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewA good quality bag that's great for beginners, it can even hold a notation book and a clock. (I would very much advise putting them in a ziploc bag or something to protect them from the pieces, though.) Thanks so much.
Jesse from Southgate, MI Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewNo problems...great deal.
Will Gindlesperger from Delray Beach Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewI wish you would have put a disclaimer on it telling me that the chess board that I also bought from you guys would not fit in the loop that is for your board. Kind of defeats the purpose of the carrying case if I have to carry my board separately. (Wholesale Chess Edit--This bag does not fit the large mousepad board or large vinyl board. Customer received replacement carryall bag.)
Jeff from Phoenix Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewThese are good bags. I'd like to point out they are NYLON, not vinyl like similar bags. This being said, they do the trick nicely, and when they are on sale, they're hard to pass up for a team. The navy blue bags are quite dark, but noticeably not black. My one complaint is that the rollup board holder is smaller than I'd like, and the way it is crafted can stick to, say, a mousepad board. You may have to try a few times to get the board in, but it's a good-quality product.
Art from B'klyn, N Y Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewThe bag is great for the pieces, but I would have liked the loop to be a few centimeters larger for the chess board and buddy board.
Jan from Princeton Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewWasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it served its purpose. I was looking for something with a little more "padding" to protect the electronic Chess Station. Oh well. Sturdy bag and no doubt good for what it was intended.
J. L. from Brownsboro Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewQuite nice bag, well made and durable, but, it won't accommodate a mouse pad board.
Tiger Kings Chess Club from San Diego, CA Starter Chess Bag w/ Handle and Loop ReviewThese are high quality, durable, low end bags. They're great for children's sets. The loop has a hem which hampers the insertion of the rolled-up board when the board hits the far hem at the end of the loop. This is overcome by rolling the board to a tighter diameter until the board passes the far hem. You may find cheaper vinyl bags at other chess sites, but these are made of quality canvas, which seems to be a better material for this bag.
