Description of Fritz Trainer - Davies: Torre Attack
Torre Attack, with 1.d4 followed by 2.Nf3 and 3.Bg5, is a solid and easy to learn opening system with hidden dynamic potential. An understanding of the plans and ideas is more important than a precise knowledge of variations which means that it can be played for a lifetime without the need to worry about shock moves or surprises. These are amongst the reasons that several great players have been attracted by the Torre, including those with such diverse styles as Tigran Petrosian and David Bronstein.Nigel Davies has been a Grandmaster since 1993 and is a former British Open Quickplay and U21 Champion. He has played the Torre Attack in a number of his own games.System requirements: Pentium-Processor at 300 Mhz or higher, 64 MB RAM, Windows XP, Windows Vista, DVD drive, mouse, soundcard.
Customer Reviews of Fritz Trainer - Davies: Torre Attack
Art Cominio from Orlando Fritz Trainer - Davies: Torre Attack ReviewI own quite a few FTO DVDs by many authors. Nigel Davies is my favorite author. All the FTO authors undoubtedly know their subjects thoroughly, but Davies is the best presenter of them all, IMO. He has a knack for teaching and coaching that not all Grand Masters have. He covers the material thoroughly using complete games, and explains the rationale behind every strategy, tactic, and even each important move. He stresses understanding, not blind memorization. I am happy to give Nigel Davies an unqualified recommendation. This is something I cannot do for certain other authors who obviously know their subject, but are poor teachers. The Davies DVDs are an important resource for those seeking to improve their game. Keep them coming Nigel!!
